Bombay High Court division bench heard a Suo Moto Public Interest Litigation (PIL) , relating to the use of nylon/synthetic thread (manja) and directed the respondents to form special cells for taking effective action against the violators as per the ban imposed by the National Green Tribunal.

The Supreme Court on Thursday said the views of the people and those of experts needed to be called for by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) as part of long-term measures to overcome the perennial pollution problem especially during the winter months in Delhi and the National capital Region.

According to the , The "Disaster Relief Assistance Scheme" is being driven by the Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, under which the registered construction workers are to be provided assistance for the maintenance of their families in case of disaster. 

The Bombay High Court on Wednesday rejected the petition filed by senior IPS officer Rashmi Shukla challenging the FIR lodged by Mumbai Police in March this year. The police had booked unidentified persons for allegedly tapping phones and leaking confidential documents on the State Intelligence Department complaint since such tapping was in violation of the Official Secrets Act 1923.

Allahabad High Court while hearing a petition filed by Shyoraj Singh and another observed that when the process of land acquisition is completed and the government has taken possession of the land, it can't be expected to keep the police stationed there at all times to maintain physical possession.
