The Delhi Government on Thursday informed the Delhi High Court that the Chandni Chowk pedestrianization project from Red Fort intersection to Fatehpuri Masjid will be inaugurated on December 31.
The bench stated that “You can file it in Punjab, Haryana, Allahabad this petition will do.” The bench finally disposed of the petition allowing liberty to file another plea after required averments.
the bench said that it is often seen that officers do not follow the order in the first place. They force people to file contempt Petitions. Even on contempt Petition, orders are not followed even after being given the opportunity to follow.
A three-judge bench of Chief Justice S.A. Bobde, Justices A.S. Bopanna and V. Ramasubramanian clarified that the observations in the High Court order will not affect the prosecution of the criminal cases.
