The Delhi High Court on Tuesday adjourned the Delhi Riots matter after the petitioners raised the issue that the reply filed by the Delhi Police has not been served to them.
A divisional bench comprising Chief Justice D.N. Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan while hearing the matter through video conferencing stated that whether it is filing a reply or filing rejoinder, affidavit, do it on or before 24th of July, No more time will be allowed.
The counsel appearing for Jamia Ulama-I-Hind Through General Secretary submitted that “the state had filed a reply with two annexures A and B which is in a sealed envelope submitted to Court.
- Name of Prisoners Arrested after lockdown;
- Names Arrested during Riots.
We request, we are an organization kindly provide us with the Names”
Whereas, Advocate Sumeeta Chaudhari appearing for Jamiat Ulama submitted that the order of preserving video footage is not on record.
However, The Court stated that we’ll listen to everyone let the arguments start first.
The Court further said that file whatever you want to but on your request, we are keeping it for every Monday or Tuesday.
The Court has directed all the parties to file and exchange documents on or before 24th July, the matter is listed for 27th July 2020.
