Failure to operate grievance redressal committee: Delhi HC issues notice to DU

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has issued a notice in a plea against Pro- Vice-Chancellor Prof. P.C. Joshi, Delhi University, alleging that the DU has not taken steps to make the Grievance Redressal Committee functional and that is a violation of the court’s order.

A single-judge bench of Justice Pratibha M. Singh, while hearing the matter through video conferencing, noted: “Clearly, there is complete non-compliance of the order passed by this court on August 7, 2020.

The application has been filed in a case challenging the Open Book Examination (OBE) being conducted by the Delhi University.

The bench stated: “The OBE commenced on August 10. Students are expressing several grievances that need to be addressed. The working of the Grievance Redressal Committee which is to look into the grievances of students giving the Online OBE currently underway, cannot be permitted to be hampered in this manner.”
