Uttarakhand Floor Test On May 10th between 11 AM & 1 PM; But Disqualified MLAs Can’t Vote

Supreme Court has ruled that Harish Rawat will face a floor test on May 10th, between 11 AM and 1 PM. During those two hours, there would be no President’s Rule in the state, and Harish Rawat will enter the assembly as a CM.

However, in a severe blow to BJP, the apex court has ruled that the disqualified MLAs from Congress will not be able to vote.

Justice Dipak Misra, while announcing the verdict, said that whether right or wrong, the speaker has disqualified the concerned MLAs, and they can’t vote during the floor test.

The entire floor test shall be video-graphed and there would be adequate security measures for all members of the assembly.

Principal Secretary (Legislature) has been appointed by the Supreme Court as the ‘observer’ of this floor test.

All eyes are now set on May 10th, when the political fate of Uttarakhand would be determined.
