Union Health Minister, JP Nadda held a press conference to declare that President Pranab Mukherjee has given green signal for NEET ordinance.
The Minister said “all the private institutions and medical colleges will come under the ambit of NEET”. Although, for this year under-graduate course has been exempted from NEET whereas, post-graduate course examination will be held in December this year, for 2017-18 batch.
The state governments have been given option to either conduct their exam or go for NEET. Speaking on this, Nadda said that the NEET exams will be held on 24th July and all those who want to appear, they can, it will come under NEET. And students of state government boards will not have to sit in the exam. But, from the next academic session all the state boards have to come under this uniform entrance test platform.
He said the ordinance came to make the stand of NEET clear and give relief to those states which somehow, were not able to put their effective views on hearing by Supreme Court.
The decision by President on NEET ordinance was awaited since a week.
