New Delhi (ILNS): Even as Republic TV Chief Editor Arnab Goswami’s plea against the privilege motion of the Maharashtra Assembly was adjourned today at the Supreme Court, the company’s CEO, Vikash Khanchandani, was grilled by the Mumbai Police’s crime branch yesterday for nine hours. This was related to the Television Rating Points (TRP) rigging case.
The case is about alleged payments to homes where television sets were kept tuned to certain channels in order to boost their (the channel’s) viewership.
Among other executives of the channel, police recorded the statement of COO Hersh Bhandari and questioned distribution head, Ghanshyam Singh, in Daman. Singh, who was at a resort, was brought to Nani Daman police station and questioned for seven hours.
