New Delhi (ILNS): The Allahabad High Court has approved inter-district transfers of teachers of primary schools of Basic Education Council in Uttar Pradesh. This has come as a big relief for the Uttar Pradesh government as well as the teachers waiting for the transfer.
After this decision of the high court, the way of transfer of more than 1 lakh primary teachers in the state from one district to another has been cleared. However, the court has also imposed a condition in this order. The High Court, in its important order, while affirming the decision of the UP government, has said that once the transfer of a teacher has been done it cannot be transferred again.
The order states that under normal circumstances primary teachers cannot be transferred again. If there are special circumstances then it can be transferred at other times also.
In this case, hundreds of teachers including Divya Goswami had filed a petition in the high court. Petitions were also filed against the expulsion of teachers who had taken advantage of the transfer.
According to the information, teachers suffering from serious diseases can be transferred to the medical ground again. The differently-abled can also get benefit under special circumstances. Those married women teachers who were transferred before marriage, but now want to get transfer to the in-laws’ district on the basis of their need, they can also come under this scope.
