Prayagraj (ILNS): The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has rejected the anticipatory bail application of suspended DIG Arvind Sen, trapped in a multi core tender scam in the State Animal husbandry department.
The court has fixed the next hearing on December 3. The court has given three days to the Sen’s advocate to file a counter-affidavit. The suspended DIG is absconding to avoid arrest.
Justice Vivek Chaudhary passed the order on Sen’s anticipatory bail application.
According to the prosecution, the tender scam was revealed in the month of June. On June 13, Indore-based businessman Manjit Singh Bhatia alias Rinku filed an FIR at Hazratganj Police Station in Lucknow.
In this case, 10 accused were named. The accused are charged of cheating Rs 9 crore 72 lakh 12,000 in the name of contract for supply of wheat, flour, sugar and lentils etc. with pseudonymous documents.
Arvind Sen is accused of intimidating, threatening and getting the signature of the victim on a plain sheet of paper. He was SP in CBCID at that time. In return, the alleged thugs gave him large sums of money.
When the matter was investigated, the allegations were found correct. After this he was suspended. Now the police are searching for him.
