The Delhi High Court on Thursday allowed Jamia Millia Islamia student Asif Iqbal Tanha, an accused in the North East Delhi riots, to stay in a guesthouse manned by police for him to appear in his BA Persian (Hons) exams on December 4, 5 and 7.
Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri of the Delhi High Court also asked the Jail Superintendent to permit the accused to carry all necessary reading material and books.
Tanha was directed to be taken to a guest house in Lajpat Nagar suggested by the police. The Court said he shall be brought back to jail after the exams were over.
The trial court had earlier on November 26 granted custody parole to Tanha. However, he, through his counsel, sought that he should be granted interim bail.

Tanha was arrested on May 19 for allegedly being part of the premeditated conspiracy in the Delhi riots earlier this year.
