The Counsel argued that to solve the traffic problem in Jabalpur, in October 2018, Smart City Limited started a Hexi cycle project in Jabalpur through a public private partnership. For this, 45 bicycle stations and kiosks were built in Jabalpur after spending crores of rupees. The aim of this project was that people should use more and more bicycles to avoid traffic jams in the city. Even after spending crores of rupees, Smart City Limited has discontinued the Hexi Cycle Project, alleged the Counsel.
During the hearing of the case on Monday, petitioner’s advocate Aditya Sanghi informed the court that tea and paan were being kept on the cycle track built from Katanga Tirahe to Guarighat by the Municipal Corporation and Smart City Ltd after spending crores of rupees.
