The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) secretary Rohit Pandey has written to the SCBA Election Committee that the timeline provided by it is insufficient for holding elections to posts in the SCBA. In his letter, Pandey has mentioned several discrepancies and essentials which, he said, need to be attended to before carrying out the elections.
It was mentioned in the letter that there are no helpline numbers provided to the members of the bar for resolutions of queries regarding the election.
Pandey also requested that there should be at least two demo or training sessions on Virtual Elections for members of the bar to get familiar with the process. This can also avoid technical inconvenience on the day of elections, the letter said.
The SCBA secretary drew attention to the fact that there are several members of the Bar who have not updated details yet due to diverse problems. The provisional voter list has been updated on the SCBA website in the late evening of January 6, 2021 (Wednesday), therefore such members, practically won’t be able to update it or clear objections till January 8, 2021.
The secretary also requested the Election Committee to compulsorily verify the records physically.
