Lawyer writes to Punjab and Haryana HC, Supreme Court against suspension of internet services in Haryana

A lawyer has written a letter to chief justices Punjab and Haryana High Court and Supreme Court against temporary suspension of internet services, SMS services and all dongle services offered on mobile networks in 17 districts of the state.

Lawyer Dr. Sandeep Kumar Singhmar of Hisar has written a letter to the Chief Justices of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court, urging them to take cognizance of the matter. Dr. Singhmar has stated that during the farmers agitation there has not been any violent demonstration or violence in the state of Haryana.

Peaceful agitation is going on all over the state. It is not rational to ban mobile internet services in 17 districts merely because of the possibilities, he claimed.

At present, when the Central Government is cherishing the dream of Digital India, then shutting down internet services without any reason is nothing short of injustice, he said. the lawyer added that in today’s time internet has become a part of every citizen’s routine.

He said internet is the lifeline of Digital India. He stated that not suspension of internet services affects e daily activities of common man as many services of corporate and government sector are online. Apart from this, the digital economy is also suffering a huge loss due to the shutdown of mobile internet.
