Chhattisgarh HC to hear PIL against builder in possession of land for jail and police department on February 23

The Chhattisgarh High Court will hear the Public Interest litigation filed in connection with the possession of the builder on the land given to the jail Authorities by Korea Maharaja in Baikunthpur on February 23.

The petitioner Dr. Rakesh Kumar Sharma has filed a PIL through advocate Prasun Bhaduri.

According to the petition, before independence, the Maharaja of the princely state of Korea allotted land for the jail and police department. This land, which had been vacant for a long time.

Few years ago, Sanjay Aggarwal formed “Maa Vaishnav Associate company in the name of his wife Seema Aggarwal.

It was alleged in the petition that Sanjay Aggarwal , conspiring with the revenue officer and the officers of the municipality, made the land allotment for the Jail Authorities in the favour of the company.

The petition has sought an action against the guilty officers by conducting an inquiry into the entire matter. The petitioner has also claimed the cancellation of the allotment of land to the private company.

The petitioner also seeks direction from the High Court to the state government to formulate a concrete policy so that there is no unauthorized occupation of government land in the future.

The Court has fixed the next date of hearing on 23 February.
