Delhi HC to hear plea urging for decongestion of prisons in view of Covid-19 today

The bench of Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Jasmeet Singh will hear the plea, filed by Advocates Kanhaiya Singhal and Rishabh Jain.

The Delhi High Court will today take up a petition, which seeks directions from the Court to decongest Delhi Prisons in the wake of the recent surge in Covid-19 cases in the national capital and also prays for mandatory RT-PCR testing for prisoners and inmates of the jails.

The bench of Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Jasmeet Singh will hear the plea, filed by Advocates Kanhaiya Singhal and Rishabh Jain, seeking benefit for the prisoners being held in Central Jails of Delhi, devoid of medical assistance and adequate safeguards against novel coronavirus.
