Come August 16, the Delhi High Court will start physical hearing of matters in district courts under its jurisdiction, however, on an experimental basis, for the time being.
“The Full Court is pleased to observe that physical hearings in the District Courts in Delhi may be resumed in a restricted manner with effect from August 16 on an experimental basis, subject to further orders, based on evaluation of the situation of the pandemic in the NCT of Delhi,” said the order signed by Registrar General Manoj Jain on Wednesday.
Earlier on June 28, the Delhi High Court decided to continue with the existing system of hearing urgent cases via video-conference till July 23 amid the threat of Delta Plus, a variant of Novel Coronavirus.
A similar order was also passed by the High Court with regard to the functioning of district courts here, stating that all the judicial officers shall take up urgent matters and final argument cases of their respective courts through video-conferencing till July 23, while the order matters shall be adjourned by them.
