A local court in Mathura on Thursday directed stopping the arbitrariness involved with devotees coming to the Lord Banke Bihari temple located in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh.
The Court has also imposed ban on forcibly applying sandal tilak to visitors by unauthorized persons in temple premises. A application has been filed by a devotee, Shailendra Goswami, in the lower court contending that thousands of devotees visit the Banke Bihari temple every day. Some of these devotees are associated with ”Goswamijan”. Unauthorized people present in the temple premises apply sandal tilak on devotees who are not associated with the “Goswamijan”. Not only this, these people also take money for it. Devotees who do not give them money, the unauthorized people behave indecently with those devotees, said Shailendra Goswami in his application.
It is alleged that some unauthorized person installed benches, tables, plinths, chair cushions in the temple premises, which creates obstruction. He further informed the court that an administrative order has been made in this regard March 16, 2017.
The order passed by Civil Judge Junior Division Archana Singh said that unauthorized people should remove their benches, stools, tables kept on temple premises and on the temple platform, and the forced application of sandal tilak to visitors will not be allowed. Punitive action will be taken against persons who disobey the above orders inside the temple premises, it said.
