Lakhimpur Kheri violence case accused Ashish Mishra alias Monu did not get relief from the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court on Friday in the bail case.
The Court gave two-weeks’ time to the state government to file its reply on the bail application of accused Ashish Mishra alias Monu and fixed the next hearing on January 6, 2022.
A single-judge bench of Justice Karunesh Singh Pawar passed this order while hearing a bail Application filed by Ashish Mishra @ Monu.
Ashish Mishra is the main accused in the case of the death of eight people, including four farmers, in the violence following the riots in Lakhimpur Kheri District on October 3. Ashish is the son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni.
Vinod Shahi, Additional Advocate General, has drawn the attention of the Court towards the order dated November 17, 2021 passed of the Supreme Court wherein the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been reconstituted with a direction that SIT shall make all efforts to conclude the investigation expeditiously and file a chargesheet.

It has been submitted by AAG that the investigation is going on as directed by the Supreme Court and there are a large number of eyewitnesses whose statements have to be recorded.
Therefore, AAG has prayed for and is granted two weeks further time to file counter affidavit.
