Supreme Court lawyer writes to Delhi Police chief Rakesh Asthana of threats to Supreme Court, lawyers

A criminal complaint has been filed by a Supreme Court lawyer against a group of unknown persons for attempting to wage war amongst the general public and warning dire consequences to the Supreme Court if it continues hearing the PM security breach case.

Deepak Prakash, an Advocate on Record in Supreme Court, has complained to Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana that a group of persons are anonymously calling numerous advocates practicing in the Supreme Court since 1040 am today. They, the complaint said, threatened advocates to stop the hearing regarding the PM security breach case as taken by the Supreme Court, failing which there will be extremely adverse reactions which will affect the national security and integrity of our nation.

Along with call proof and screenshots, the complainant claimed the said callers have claimed themselves to be a group from the United Kingdom and are calling from untraceable numbers +447418365564 which are registered under the name of likely sales.  The callers have categorically stated that the Supreme Court did nothing for the 1984 riots, the complaint said.

All advocates have been receiving such threatening calls since morning, which indicate that they want to bring hatred, contempt and hostility to disrupt the government and public peace and tranquillity if the Supreme Court hears the PM security breach case.

The said calls are terrifying and have created fear in the AOR fraternity, who have been threatened and warned dire consequences by the said group. Strict action must be taken immediately, failing which might lead to threat to the majestic powers of the Hon’ble Supreme Court and huge outbreak of riots, compromising on the National Security and interest of the Nation.

Complaining about the calls received by AORs taking responsibility for PM Modi’s security breach, and threatening Supreme Court not to hear the related case, the Supreme Court Advocates on Record Association (SCAORA) had written to the Secretary-General of Supreme Court of India requesting action against the same.

The SCAORA requested that immediate action should be initiated as this is a violation of the privacy of the Advocates on Records as their registered mobile numbers are out in public domain and have been compromised.
