The Delhi High Court on Tuesday granted bail to six persons in a case related to the North East Delhi riots.
In this case, the accused, Mohammad Tahir, Shahrukh, Mohd Faisal, Shoaib, Rashid and Parvez, were granted bail. It is alleged these six accused were also involved in the mob that vandalized a sweet shop and set it on fire. 22-year-old Dilbar Negi was killed in this incident.
Negi used to work as a waiter in Anil Sweet Corner. An FIR was registered under Sections 147, 148, 149, 302, 201, 436 and 427 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Gokalpuri police station.
After the FIR was registered, the local police took over the investigation of the matter. Further investigation was transferred to the SIT of Crime Branch.
During the investigation, 12 accused were arrested and after investigation, the chargesheet was filed on June 4, 2020.
According to the statements of public witnesses, it was said that a riot took place. In this, the rioters pelted stones, raised anti-Hindu slogans, ransacked many shops and houses and set them on fire. They entered a building and killed the deceased.
