SC Refuses Urgent Hearing on NEET

The NGO Sankalp had asked for an urgent hearing from the Supreme Court in a petition in which it had sought re-examination for NEET 2017. The apex court on May 25 refused to grant the hearing.

The reason for this refusal, according to the apex court was the Madras High Court’s Madurai bench’s interim order staying declaration of results till June 7. The apex court has asked the petitioner to place it again next week.

The NGO claimed that re-examination was necessary, because the question papers were leaked. The petition also claimed that different question papers were given to students in different parts of the country. Not only that, when the language of the questions changed, the difficulty levels also changed in different areas for different students.
