The Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik has been convicted in a terror funding case by a Delhi court on Thursday.
Yasin Malik has been found him guilty of offences under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) He has also been held guilty of conspiracy and sedition under the Indian Penal Code.
The quantum of sentence will be decided on May 25. The National Investigation Agency is currently assessing the financial situation of Malik before coming to the conclusion. The separatist has also been asked to furnish an affidavit regarding his financial assets by the next date of hearing.
The charges were framed after it was prima facie established that Yaseen along with Shabir Shah, Rashid Engineer, Altaf Fantoosh, Masrat and Hurriyat/Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) were the direct recipients of terror funds.
Malik has been charged of indulging in the criminal conspiracy due to which a large-scale protests took place resulting in violence. He is also charged for arson at a massive scale which were orchestrated by them.
An elaborate mechanism was spread across in the World by the team of Malik that raised for carrying out terrorist and other unlawful activities in Jammu and Kashmir.
Malik had pleaded guilty after the charge order.
