CJI Ramana, Telangana CM KCR inaugurate 32 new judicial districts of Telangana High Court

Chief Justice of India N.V. Ramana, along with Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, on Thursday virtually established 32 new judicial districts, along the lines of additionally expanded revenue districts in the Telangana High Court, on the occasion of the state’s 8th Formation Day.

The launching ceremony was attended by Telangana Minister for Law A. Indrakaran Reddy, Telangana High Court Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and High Court judges.

The new judicial districts will include 32 major District and Session Judges, as opposed to the current system in Hyderabad.

All district judges participated in the programme from their respective districts. The erstwhile 10 districts of Telangana were divided into 33 revenue districts.

The event took place from the premises of Telangana High Court at 5:00 pm.

Though the district judiciary and its officials have summer vacations for a few more days, the CJ has cancelled the remaining holidays and directed all judges to join duty from June 1.

CJI Ramana took special interest in the High Court at Hyderabad that played a key role in raising the sanctioned strength of judges to 42 from earlier 24.

This would be the second visit of the Chief Minister to the High Court, ever since the formation of the state on June 2, 2014.

Earlier, KCR had come to the High Court, when the common High Court was bifurcated and a separate Telangana High Court was formed on January 1, 2019.
