Judicial Custody of Satyendar Jain extended by 14 days

The judicial custody of health minister Satyendar Jain  has been extended by two weeks , after an order was passes by the special CBI court in Delhi on Monday.

The AAP minister Satyendra  Jain was arrested by the ED in a money laundering case.

The case was presented before the  Special Judge Geetanjli Goel who passed the order on a plea moved by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) seeking an extension of the custody of the Delhi Minister Jain after the AAP leader, was hospitalised, and appeared in the case through a video conference.

In the beginning the special Judge Goel, refused to entertain the plea on the pretext that neither Jain nor any lawyer who could represent him were present before the court during the proceedings.

ED informed the court that due to ill health, Jain had to be hositalised and could not be present in person. The court then ordered ED to ensure that Jain is present virtually before the court in the later part of the day through video conferencing.

The judge heard the arguments on the plea by agency and granted 14 days extension for judicial custody of the politician.

The  leader Satyendra Jain who is aged 57 was arrested by the Enforcement directorate on May 30 in an alleged money laundering case under criminal sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The leader had to be hospitalized after his oxygen level dipped down last week He was admitted to a city hospital last week after his oxygen level dipped, he seems to be recovering as he attended the hearing virtually.
