The Uttarakhand High Court issued notice on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) raising a grievance that there are several vacancies in the Municipal Post Graduate College, Mussoorie, which have not been filled up for some time, leading to a fall in the standards of education in the said institution.
The PIL has been filed by one Anisha Kumari. While considering the PIL, the Division Bench of Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Alok Kumar Verma directed the respondents to file their respective counter-affidavits, explaining the reasons why the vacancies have not been filled up, and also disclose what steps are being taken to fill them.
Further, the Court directed the counter affidavits be filed within four weeks.and rejoinder before the next date.
The PIL has been listed on April 26 for further hearing.
