Adani unites Opposition

On Friday, February 3, both houses of Parliament were adjourned till February 6, amid disruptions over the Opposition’s demand for debate on public sector investments in “companies losing market value”. The Opposition demanded an impartial investigation under the supervision of the Supreme Court or a joint parliamentary committee to probe the charges raised in the Hindenburg report against the Adani Group. As many as 16 opposition parties attended an urgent meeting called by Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge at 10 am on February 3 to chalk out the strategy for the floor of the House during the ongoing Budget session. The MPs of the Congress, DMK, Samajwadi Party, Aam Aadmi Party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi, Shiv Sena, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Janata Dal United, CPI(M), CPI, NCP, National Conference, Indian Union Muslim League, KC (Jose Mani), KC ( Thomas) and RSP attended Opposition parties meeting in Kharge’s chamber in Parliament building.
