Pratibha Jain, Chair, India Committee, ABA; Head of Strategy & Group General Counsel, Everstone Group, said the legal profession has come together in an unprecedented manner to curate this conference.
She said all the leading law firms have provided their full support to the event, leading to the conference having the rare honour of more than 25 sponsors and 120 speakers.
The speakers included five sitting Supreme Court judges, seven Members of Parliament and 13 Managing Partners of major law firms, she added.
Jain said the keynote address by the CJI would set the tone and agenda of the conference.
She further revealed that the Government of India has endorsed this conference as a G20-related event.
Jain said ABA was the largest voluntary bar association of lawyers and law students in the world, which was not specific to any jurisdiction in the United States of America.
It’s major activities included setting academic standards for law schools, formulation of model ethical codes related to the legal profession and dissemination of legal research.
The ABA International Law Section served as a gateway between international legal practitioners in the US and those practicing around the globe.
