Central government notifies appointment of four additional judges as permanent judges in Bombay High Court

The appointment of four additional judges of the Bombay High Court as permanent judges has been notified by the Central government on Friday.

The confirmation on the same was seen in the twitter of Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju .

The four additional judges who were made permanent are:

– Justice Rajesh Narayandas Laddha

– Justice Sanjay Ganpatrao Mehare

– Justice Govinda Ananda Sanap

– Justice Shivkumar Ganpatrao Dige

The recommended of these additional judges to be made permanent was made Supreme Court Collegium on February 15, 2023.

The recommendations for the above names for appointment as permanent judges was done by Collegium of the Bombay High Court on December 15, 2022.

The Bombay High Court as on March 1, 2023, is working with a strength of 65 judges against 94 as sanctioned strength and has vacancy of 28. It will now have 42 permanent judges and 23 additional judges.
