NGT asks committee to present action plans for Yamuna floodplains

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) principal bench, headed by Justice Swatanter Kumar on Friday (July 21) called for action plans regarding the destruction of the Yamuna floodplains through a function held by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s the Art of Living. The target is to get the floodplains back to its original condition.

The bench asked the counsel for petitioner Pramod Kumar Tyagi to submit the action plan. A committee comprising the chairman of DDA, secretary of NCT of Delhi and authorities of Noida will make this action plan.

The next date of hearing is July 28.
