Allahabad High Court directs Managing Director of Indian Telephone Industries Limited to file an affidavit giving reason for not clearing dues of petitioners

The Allahabad High Court has directed the Chairman/Managing Director of Indian Telephone Industries Limited, Bangalore and Additional General Manager (Personnel and Administration), ITI Naini, to file an affidavit as to why the dues of the petitioner were not paid.

A Single Bench of Justice J.J Munir passed this order while hearing a petition filed by Naima Bano.

The grievance of the petitioner is that he is a retired Deputy Manager (Plant Department), Indian Telephone Industries Limited, Naini, Prayagraj. After completing 32 years of service, he retired on 31.01.2023, but has not been paid his privilege leave encashment and LTC allowance, all of which he claims together with interest from the date of retirement till realization.

The Court directed the Chairman-Managing Director, Indian Telephone Industries Limited, I.T.I Bhawan, Doorvani Nagar, Bengaluru and the Additional General Manager (Personal & Administration), Indian Telephone Industries Limited, Mirzapur Road, Naini, Prayagraj to show cause by filing their affidavits, within ten days why the petitioner’s dues under the aforesaid heads have not been paid.

The Court further directed Sudarshan Singh, Central Government Counsel to file an affidavit on behalf of respondent no 1 within the same period of time about the grant paid to the Indian Telephone Industries for the purpose of disbursement of post retiral benefits etc.

“Let this order be communicated to theChairman-Managing Director, Indian Telephone Industries Limited, I.T.I Bhawan, Doorvani Nagar, Bengaluru and the Additional General Manager (Personal & Administration), Indian Telephone Industries Limited, Mirzapur Road, Naini, Prayagraj by the Registrar (Compliance)”, the Court ordered.

The Court has fixed the next hearing of the petition on November 22, 2023.
