Delhi Court has asked the Delhi Police to provide action taken report on complaint seeking registration of First Information Report (FIR) against Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Deputy Director General Gyaneshwar Singh by Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Sameer Wankhede.
Notice was issued to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, South West District by the Additional Sessions Judge Devender Kumar Jangala for filing of the action taken report in respect of complaint by Wankhede dating back to July 2023.
The application for FIR was filed under Section 156(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
In his complaint IRS Sameer Wankhede has accused senior officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS)of harassment and atrocities punishable under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities ) Act, 1989 during the enquiry related to the Cordelia drugs bust case in which Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan had been arrested.
In his complaint, Wankhede metions how Singh had allegedly humiliated Wankhede for being a member of scheduled caste along with threatning him.
The Patiala House Court got an application by Wankhede stating that the complaint was originally lodged with the Mumbai Police which later informed him that his complaint was transferred to Delhi Police for further action.
In his complaint Wankhede has alleged that despite sending emails to Delhi Police for further action, no FIR was registered and thus he was compelled to approach the Court.
The Court after understanding the matter has issued notice to the Delhi Police and listed the case for further consideration on February 27.
