The Union government has approved the elevation of 10 judicial officers as additional judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
A notification to this effect was issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice on Friday.
The judicial officers appointed as Additional Judges include Virinder Aggarwal; Mandeep Pannu; Parmod Goyal; Shalini Singh Nagpal; Amarinder Singh Grewal; Subhas Mehla; Surya Partap Singh; Rupinderjit Chahal; Aradhana Sawhney; and Yashvir Singh Rathor.
On July 2, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the names of these judicial officers for appointment as additional judges.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court is currently functioning with 51 judges as against a sanctioned strength of 85.
