Constitute committee to look into compensation complaints of Bhopal gas tragedy victims: SC

Off a PIL by Ramjan Mirdha, saying that huge sums of money sanctioned for various schemes to be implemented in remote parts of Purulia, West Bengal, for improvement of the quality and standard of lives of the inhabitants there are being defalcated in three gram panchayats under Para Panchayat Samity, the Supreme Court bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud on Monday (January 15) directed Mirdha to file additional documents before the concerned district magistrate and that the magistrate will take cognizance of the same.

The writ petitioner prays for an investigation into such irregular acts and for proper punishment of the wrong doers.

The SLP has been dismissed accordingly.
