India’s embattled liquor baron Vijay Mallya has sunk deeper into the abyss he is already in. Recently the UK High Court has struck another telling blow on the fugitive former-billionaire, awarding a $ 90 million claim to Singapore-based BOC Aviation. This case is also related to the now defunct Kingfisher Airlines of Mallya.

Malya, who is fight an extradition case that Indian investigating agencies have filed at the Westminster Magistrates’ Court over alleged defalcation of Rs 9,000 crores in unpaid bank loans, has a hearing on March 16.

The Singapore firm had sued him over leasing of aircraft and the obvious unpaid bills from 2014.

On February 5 Justice Picken of the Business and Property Courts of the High Court in London, said that “the defendants have no real prospect of successfully defending the claim”.

The claim was brought to court by BOC Aviation in Singapore and BOC Aviation (Ireland) Ltd. The defendants in the case were  Kingfisher Airlines Ltd and United Breweries (Holdings) Ltd. according to reports.
