The Patiala House Court on Friday (February 23) granted to CBI one day transit remand of Rotomac owner Vikram Kothari and his son Rahul Kothari.

They will be produced at a Lucknow Court tomorrow.

The CBI had filed an application (see the remand copy of CBI below) in the Patiala House Court of Samar Vishal, Metropolitan Magistrate seeking transit remand for two days.

During the hearing, P K Dubey, counsel appearing for Kothari submitted that the magistrate court did not have jurisdiction to hear the remand application as such offences are exclusively adjudicated by a special court.

He further argued the CBI had deliberately produced the accused before a court which lacks jurisdiction so that the accused is remanded without following the due process and which is ultra vires of the fundamental rights of Kothari.
