The Rajasthan High Court on Tuesday (February 27) has set aside the police investigation against Bollywood superstar Salman Khan for allegedly making casteist remarks during the promotion of his movie, Tiger Zinda Hai.
Khan during an interview while promoting the film had used the word bhangi to refer to his own dancing style. The valmiki community had taken offence at the comment and an FIR was lodged with Churu police in Rajasthan against Khan.
A case was registered under provisions of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 and Section 153A (disturbing communal harmony between two communities) of the Indian Penal Code against Khan.
