The Delhi High Court on Tuesday (March 20) listed the plea of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), challenging the trial court judgment in the 2G spectrum allocation scam case to appropriate bench tomorrow. The matter was mentioned before the bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar on Tuesday and the bench listed it for hearing tomorrow before the appropriate bench.

Additional Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, the Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) for the 2G case along with the counsel for ED on Tuesday, mentioned the appeal before the bench.

The ED had on Monday (April 19) challenged the acquittal, however, due to certain objections in the plea, the file was returned by the high court registry asking them to file it before the court after removing the objections.

In December 2017, a special CBI court had acquitted former telecom minister A Raja, DMK leader Kanimozhi and others in the 2G spectrum allocation scam cases saying that the prosecution had “miserably failed” to prove the charges.
