Re-investigation of mistreatment of African women by Somnath Bharti: Delhi court fixes March 26 for final verdict

The Patiala House Court on Saturday (March 24) reserved its order on the former Delhi minister and MLA Somnath Bharti’s plea seeking re-investigation of alleged mistreatment of African women. The Court will deliver verdict on March 26.

Somnath Bharti is accused of allegedly mistreating African women. In this case, the chargesheet has been filed against Somnath Bharti and others.

The police had said in the chargesheet that the mob led by the then the then Law Minister Somnath Bharti, Delhi manhandled nine African women. The incident happened on the night of January 15-16, 2014.

In the chargesheet against Bharti and 17 others, various penal sections have been invoked.
