The Supreme Court has admitted and agreed to hear another case related to the huge PNB scam. This writ has been filed by advocate Manohar Lal Sharma.

Sharma has filed this PIL expressing serious concern over the fraud committed by the PNB by issuing Letter of Undertaking without proper surety or bank guarantee and without entering the LoU in the bank records.

The same bench – comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices A M Khanwilkar and D Y Chandrachud – that has agreed to hear another related case on maintainability, has listed this for April 27 (the other, to decide maintainability, has been listed for April 23). The cases have been de-tagged as the petition does not per se related to PNB case only.

The petitioner has mentioned about 5 CBI matters running since 2001. The petitioner says that the CBI has not answered for even one of the cases.
