Delhi Police files charge-sheet at Patiala House Court against Dy CM Sisodia, 61 others

Delhi Police on Monday (June 4) filed a charge-sheet against Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, former AAP leader Yogendra Yadav, Amanatullah Khanand 59 others at the Patiala House Court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Samar Vishal, for breaking Section 144 imposed.

An FIR has been lodged, related to a protest by AAP workers after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was taken into custody at Patiala House court in a defamation case filed by former BJP president Nitin Gadkari in a 2014 case.

Supporters started gathering outside the jail to protest against the court’s decision, while police started evicting them because of Section 144 imposed. Section 144 of the CrPC prohibits gatherings of more than four persons.

AAP leaders Rakhi Birla, Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh were also present outside the jail to lead the party’s supporters.

The case has been set for July 5 for consideration.
