Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will take lessons for guarding prisons from Tamil Nadu Special Police (TSP) which guards the Tihar jail.

CRPF has approached the TSP to share its expertise in guarding high-security prisons. According to the sources, TSP has agreed to the proposal and will familiarize the paramilitary force with the workings of high-security prisons.

It is to be noted that CRPF has been entrusted to guard the Mandoli prison complex in New Delhi.

It is believed that decision has been taken in view of the recognition of the fact that TSP has displayed exemplary efficiency in guarding the high-security prison, Tihar for over three decades.

Sources said that recognizing TSP exemplary efficiency, the New Delhi government had even approached Tamil Nadu government to send TSP personnel for deployment in Mandoli jail.
