The Supreme Court on Tuesday (July 3) dismissed a PIL seeking a court-monitored SIT probe into the multi-crore PNB scam.
Finding no merit in the PIL, the bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices D Y Chandrachud and A M Khanwilkar told petitioner-advocate ML Sharma that it can’t entertain such PILs with reckless allegations.
Sharma urged in the PIL that a SIT team should be constituted under the chairmanship of the retired judge of the Supreme Court to investigate the matter. The PIL also demanded that the monitoring of the investigation itself should be done by the Supreme Court.
