The Supreme Court on Monday (July 9) ordered Moolchand, Rockland, St Stephans and Sitaram Bharitiya Hospital to provide free of cost treatment to 10 per cent in-patient department (IPD) patients and 25 per cent outpatient department (OPD) patients.
The bench of Justices Arun Mishra and S Abdul Nazeer said private hospitals receiving land at concessional rates will have to comply the Centre’s order.
The Centre had issued an order, requiring private hospitals built on land earmarked by the government on discounted rates, to render 10 per cent treatment to IPD patients and 25 per cent to OPD patients.
