Decide Gautam Navlakha plea seeking quashing of FIR within 8 weeks: SC to Bombay HC

The Supreme Court on Tuesday (Mar 12) taking note of the Gautam Navlakha’s plea seeking quashing of the FIR (Bhima Koregaon case) against him pending since Oct 2018 in the Bombay HC told HC to decide the matter within 8 weeks.

The Maharashtra government had earlier told the apex court that Gautam Navlakha that the accused had Maoist links and that the investigating officer followed every procedure of law in proceeding against him.

Navlakha had moved the high court seeking quashing of FIR against him claiming there was no substantial proof against him and that he was being deceitfully linked to Bhima Koregaon incident.

Navlakha along with four other activists were arrested by Pune Police in Oct 2018 for alleged links with banned outfit CPI (Maoist).
