The apex court on Thursday (Mar 28) declined urgent hearing in a plea seeking stay on release of a film Ram ki Janmabhoomi alleging it will influence the conciliation process in Ram Mandir- Babri Masjid case.

The bench comprising Justices SA Bobde and S Abdul Nazeer posted the matter for hearing after two weeks.

The bench observed: “What’s the relation between movie and mediation. Parties want to settle it. We are not so pessimistic. No film can come in the way of mediation.”

The film is slated to be released tomorrow. The film has run into controversy as it allegedly portrays grim picture of the Muslim women due to Nikah Halala and Triple Talaq, the film’s director Waseem Rizvi said.
