Former Kolkata Commissioner Rajeev Kumar on Monday approached the apex court seeking extension of seven days protection time given to him by the court.
Kumar referred to lawyers’ strike in West Bengal a reason for the extension.
The Supreme Court told the counsel of Kumar to approach the Secretary General of the court.
Earlier, the apex court on May 17 had vacated interim protection given to Kumar from arrest by CBI. The court had granted him seven days to seek legal remedies.
Kumar has been charged by the CBI of tampering with the evidence in the Saradha chit fund scam to safeguard powerful politicians.
