A special CBI court on Friday issued non-bailable warrant (NBW) against Ratul Puri, nephew of Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, in a money laundering case related to AgustaWestland deal.
Special CBI Judge Arvind Kumar pronounced the order and also dismissed impleadment plea of Puri.
The special court had reserved its order on the plea filed by Enforcement Directorate (ED) seeking NBW against Puri.
On the previous hearings, the ED’s counsel had informed the court that if Puri was allowed to leave India he will temper with evidences and will also influence witnesses.
Puri is being investigated by the probe agencies in connection with kickbacks in the AgustaWestland chopper deal. The probe agency has alleged that Puri’s companies were used to launder money received from kickbacks in AgustaWestland deal.
