Delhi violence: Two pleas filed in HC seeking FIRs against Owaisi, Swara Bhasker, Harsh Mander, RJ Sayema

An impleadment application has been filed in a plea filed by an activist Harsh Mander, seeking registration of FIRs against RJ Sayema, actor Swara Bhaskar, MLA Amanatullah Khan as well as against Mander for their anti-CAA stand.

The application moved by Advocate Sanjiv Kumar also sought an investigation by National Investigation Agency into the riots.

The application further alleges that some intellectuals, pseudo-liberals, tukde-tukde gang hatched a sinister plot to defame mother India internationally when US President Trump was on a visit.

“It seems that just like the famous Leningrad Siege, the plan was the total siege of Delhi by creating numerous sit-ins like Shaheen Bag and on the given day and time (in between 24th February and 25th February 2020), blocking of roads and airport, thus taking control of vital roads and airports, trapping the President of USA in Delhi, creating an impossible situation, forcing Army to take control (US Army would too have jumped in) and in that situation, there will be world media attention on India. The plan of this Urban Naxal group was to defame India, to paint India as a failed state,” the plea said.

Another impleadment application was filed today by President of Hindu Sena, Vishnu Gupta, on Mander’s plea asking the court to pass an order or directions to Delhi Police to register an FIR against Waris Pathan and Asaduddin Owaisi.

The application also alleged that the plea filed by Harsh Mander is an attempt to aggravate the situation by seeking criminal action against the BJP leaders with sole intention to defame the Hindus as if Hindus are the cause of the riots in Delhi.

“It is on record that the first death was of a Head Constable in Delhi Police namely Sh. Ratan Lal, who was shot dead by one Shahrukh and thereafter, the Hindus were attacked in general by Muslims and their shops, houses and vehicles were set on fire by the aggressor Muslims in the areas of Jaffrabad, Maujpur, Gokulpuri, Karawal Nagar etc.,” the plea said.

The Delhi High Court yesterday expressed anguish over police inaction during violence that played out for three days in the national capital. The court ordered the Delhi Police to immediately file FIRs in respect of inflammatory speeches which have allegedly triggered large-scale violence in several parts of Delhi.

At least 23 people were killed and over 200 injured in violence that started on Sunday noon. Several houses, shops and vehicles were set ablaze after clashes broke out between groups in support and against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act.

The main petition was moved by social activist Harsh Mander seeking a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to inquire into the instances of violence which unfolded on February during CAA protests.
