FIR lodged by U.P. Police on defamatory post against C.M. Yogi Adityanath

A FIR under section 153A, 295A IPC & IT Act has been lodged over a twitter post made by Mr. Sudhir Yadav, Spokesperson of Aam Aadmi Party showing U.P. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as school peon.

The complaint has been filed by one Mr. Ashwini Upadhyay against the Mr. Yadav. In a written complaint to SHO, Kavi Nagar and Senior Superintendent of Police, Ghaziabad the complainant has stated that Yogi ji is a revered saint of Hindu Dharma and Mahant of Gorakhnath Temple, also millions of Hindus as well as the complainant follows him like a Guru.

It was further alleged in the complaint that, on 23.03.2020, Mr. Sudhir Yadav who is an activist and political thinker posted a video of U.P. C.M to promote enmity on the grounds of religion and faith. The malicious and deliberate act of accused is prejudicial to maintenance of harmony and is intended to outrage the religious feelings of Hindus by insulting their Guru.

The complainant has sought appropriate action against the provisions of IPC and Information Technology Act against Sudhir Yadav. The police acting upon the written complaint has lodged an FIR and further action is underway.
