The Delhi High Court has directed the Ministry of External Affairs to publish the list of nodal officers for the various locations in Bangladesh wherein Indian students could get all the necessary facilities.
Acting upon a plea, the division bench of Justice Siddharth Mridul & Justice Talwant Singh observed that all the details and other necessary particulars of the Nodal Officers, appointed by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India have already been uploaded on their website, for the following four locations in Bangladesh:-
- Rajshahi
- Sylhet
- Chattogram
- Khulna
The petitioner Gaurav Kumar Bansal appearing in person has filed a writ petition before the High Court praying that the Government may be directed to evacuate the Indian students stranded in Bangladesh amid the outbreak of COVID-19 and also to ensure that they get all the necessary facilities of food, water and Medicare in the neighbouring country. The Standing Counsel for the GOI Mr. Jasmeet Singh has sought a brief time to obtain necessary instructions from the government officials.
The High Court has directed that the caseto be listed on 30th March, 2020 along with a similar cases titled as Ramesh Chander Goyal vs. Union of India.
